George Zimmerman knew Trayvon Martin was young. Lying just makes it worse.

Zimmerman’s ass ain’t done shit BUT lie about this whole thing.

A portrait of my paternal grandmother. In 1949, she was poisoned by a White woman in town because she “sassed” her. I don’t think people realize how White Supremacy has destroyed the lives of close personal family members. Of how it affects us all on a personal, human level, institutional ideas set aside. My father grew up without a mother because of White Supremacy.

So much for that “racism was eons ago-nobody NOW is affected by it” crap.

<3 I love you, Grandma. Even though I never knew you. Even though White Supremacy took you away before you could raise my father. I love you, Grandma. I pray you know peace now. I pray you know peace. *kiss* *hug*

Rapid City, South Dakota – A member and resident of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota came home from a 14-day stay in the hospital to find he had been horribly mutilated. Three Ks can be easily seen carved or burned into his abdomen in the shocking photograph taken the day after he came home.
Vernon Traversie, who is completely blind, said his nightmare began when he had a heart attack while at the Heart Doctors office in Rapid City last August. He said they immediately sent him a few blocks away to Rapid City Regional Hospital for emergency surgery….read the rest: LAKOTA MAN ACCUSES HOSPITAL OF HEALTHCARE HATE CRIME, By Evelyn Red Lodge
Please read and reblog.

This is so awful it hurts.

I have no words.

YOU GUYS THIS IS THE AREA I COME FROM.
This hopefully explains a lot of the angry that I have.

Waiting for some creatively inspired headdress wearers to honor this indian man by activism on his behalf.
In the meantime, the rest of us can get busy on this.

Tough As Ovaries: yeah, pro-tip for white people: -

lightspeedsound:

if you’re going to argue about how racism isn’t about white people vs. POC, and then use the irish to bring up how “omg they weren’t white!” that argument doesn’t really make sense…

….because they weren’t considered white BACK THEN and ARE CONSIDERED WHITE NOW and it was all about their appearance and “inferior to western” culture.

THEY ARE WHITE NOW. SO NO, YOU CANNOT USE IRISH PEOPLE AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHITE PEOPLE OPPRESSED BY RACISM.

IF YOU ARE OPPOSED TO USING ARGUMENTS ABOUT PAST HISTORY OF DISCRIMINATION BECAUSE HEY, IT’S NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE AND SLAVERY IS ALL GONE AND VANISHED

YOU CANNOT MAKE MY HEART BLEED FOR THE POOR IRISH PEOPLE WHO ARE NO LONGER OPPRESSED EITHER.

I AM SORRY.

AND even if we disregard that, the difference between Irish people and Black/Asian/Hispanic/Latina/Desi/other POCs is, guess what:

WE STILL HAVE NOT ‘ASCENDED” INTO WHITENESS.

We will NEVER be considered white. We are just too different. And if you’re saying that’s OUR CULTURE’S fault for not assimilating, you need to step right over here, and swallow my metaphorical, huge, spiked dick.

How to Raise Racist Kids
Step One: Don’t talk about race. Don’t point out skin color. Be “color blind.”
Step Two: Actually, that’s it. There is no Step Two.
Congratulations! Your children are well on their way to believing that <insert your ethnicity here> is better than everybody else.
Surprised? So were authors Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman when they started researching the issue of kids and race for their book NurtureShock. It turns out that a lot of our assumptions about raising our kids to appreciate diversity are entirely wrong:

People can tell me over and over ” Your a racist! The Rebel Flag is a symbol of racism.” Well if you wanna go into the history of “Racism”, What was the first flag Symbolic to others as a sign of racism? the flag first made in 1776, Which ( after several changes over the years in history) is now the american flag we all know. 1861- First Rebel Flag was made. I love america and will fight for my country, But let me show my love and respect for its Heritage. No matter which flag it may be. REBLOG : If you agree. If you disagree, please inbox me to tell me your reasoning. ( will not argue with you, just wanna hear your point of view)

“The prevailing ideas entertained by him [Jefferson] and most of the leading statesmen at the time of the formation of the old constitution, were that the enslavement of the African was in violation of the laws of nature; that it was wrong in principle, socially, morally, and politically. It was an evil they knew not well how to deal with, but the general opinion of the men of that day was that, somehow or other in the order of Providence, the institution would be evanescent and pass away. This idea, though not incorporated in the constitution, was the prevailing idea at that time. The constitution, it is true, secured every essential guarantee to the institution while it should last, and hence no argument can be justly urged against the constitutional guarantees thus secured, because of the common sentiment of the day. Those ideas, however, were fundamentally wrong. They rested upon the assumption of the equality of races. This was an error. It was a sandy foundation, and the government built upon it fell when the “storm came and the wind blew.”
“Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.” -Alexander Stephens, Vice President of the Confederate States of America
