if you’re going to argue about how racism isn’t about white people vs. POC, and then use the irish to bring up how “omg they weren’t white!” that argument doesn’t really make sense…

….because they weren’t considered white BACK THEN and ARE CONSIDERED WHITE NOW and it was all about their appearance and “inferior to western” culture. 

THEY ARE WHITE NOW. SO NO, YOU CANNOT USE IRISH PEOPLE AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHITE PEOPLE OPPRESSED BY RACISM. 

IF YOU ARE OPPOSED TO USING ARGUMENTS ABOUT PAST HISTORY OF DISCRIMINATION BECAUSE HEY, IT’S NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE AND SLAVERY IS ALL GONE AND VANISHED

YOU CANNOT MAKE MY HEART BLEED FOR THE POOR IRISH PEOPLE WHO ARE NO LONGER OPPRESSED EITHER.

AND even if we disregard that, the difference between Irish people and Black/Asian/Hispanic/Latina/Desi/other POCs is, guess what:

WE STILL HAVE NOT ‘ASCENDED” INTO WHITENESS.

We will NEVER be considered white. We are just too different.  And if you’re saying that’s OUR CULTURE’S fault for not assimilating, you need to step right over here, and swallow my metaphorical, huge, spiked dick.
